time for an update eh?

for all this time... i was posted as a male... *slaps forehead*

the semester is nearly over and apart from the sketches in class, ive only done 1 real painting until now -which is in the university's gallery- its pretty sad that im not putting effort into doing more on my own time, but im working on another one, im kind of worried that too much is going on. oh well... it shall be a challenge that will be taken
my professors, rick mccollum and dan dos santos, are my competition as of now... both VERY different but both EXTREMELY amazing... i just wish i hadn't waited till college to get portrait painting lessons...

im in a dilemma... the time in a person's life (who does art), that crucial point of trying to find your style... yes i love portraits, but there's too many things out there. How they say: put a fence around a playground, the kids play freely and roam around all the way to the fence; take the fence away, all the kids stay mainly in the center of the playground.... theres just too much of an infinite possibility that i dont know what to do

ANY WAY! heres a sketch that i did on top of an old sketch from the 'unwanted pile'

well... my wheels are circling down a forest with no tracks to keep me from straying away... its up to my own instincts to get out and with the help of my ethereal friends who guide me unknowingly. Your true guide is what you feel in yourself that you know will never be taken away from you. Your nationality can be taken away... so can your job, position, and even your religion... but whats inside you, what makes you YOU, nobody can take that away... for me, that most fundamental thing is that im a child of God.

Im not a very preachy kind of person about religion. i am religious and spiritual, its about the lifestyle. Living with God and all these things as a foundation that you walk on in life.... makes things so much deeper, more valueable, and more fulfilling.

.... yeah, dont know how i got on that tangent....

be true to yourself... not necesarilly just your heart (your heart can darn sure make you do stupid and regretable things) or your head... but to both of them, and see how what you do today may have reprocussions later on in life or how could this improve your life down the line,

if you cant see any reprocussions nor any visibile benefits, JUMP for it it could lead you to a new field of .... dont want to say flowers, but i guess i have to.... flowers, and that could lead you to a completely new side of life.

refraining from doing homework

my room looks quite meh with many different sizes and types of paper scattered throughout every square foot of this tiny room.

I decided to push homework aside and take a breather for a while. Im working on a project that involves M's and drawing it in categories of texture/mass, balanced assymetry, rhtyhm, organic/geometric, and direction... all has to be drawn without using a ruler, it's an awesome experience i tell ya. Drawing faces are great, and dont have a single straight line... thats why i love them so.

here are some of my recent sketches that ive done in my spare time.
